Social Security numbers are mandatory for a Claim. Since the DIGiclaim Entry screen does not display the SSN, agents are having to back out and go to the "Policy Search" function or call into the Claims Department to verify we have the correct one. If we were to add this information to the entry screen this would remove the need to go through Policy search and remove a lot of the phone calls into the Claims Department.
I need it... | Week |
Social Security numbers are not mandatory on a claim. They are preferred to help identify the insured. On the screen where you can sign the claim form, if the ss# was there in an editable field, they could verify the number we have on file or correct it on the form only. These numbers are reviewed by the processor to make sure it is correct with the person that we have in our system. Jessica/Nellie and I concur that this is needed but not to change our information in our system, just to list the ss number on the claim form for verification of what we have in the system.
I need to add that we not only need to be able to see the SSN, but also give the funeral home the ability to update the ssn. This happens very often.
